Leh, March 25, 2026 – Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor of LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, called on Sh. Ashish Kundra, Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, at his office chamber today to discuss several pressing public concerns and policy reforms.
During the meeting, Adv. Gyalson highlighted unresolved land-related issues that have been causing significant inconvenience to residents, including expired lease deeds and allotments made without formal agreements. He proposed the urgent formulation of a comprehensive Land Regularization Policy and suggested granting freehold titles to eligible individuals to ensure clarity and security in land ownership.
Gyalson also requested the Chief Secretary to review property-related clauses in the vigilance clearance process for government employees, aiming for procedural fairness.
In addition, he raised concerns over domestic and commercial gas cylinder distribution, pointing out that despite adequate stock at the bottling plant, distribution issues persist. He recommended a Ladakh-specific regulation to tackle these local challenges effectively.
The discussion further covered Feeder Cadre services, Draughtsman aspirants’ grievances, and ongoing issues in the health department, with Gyalson urging timely administrative intervention to address these matters.
Adv. Gyalson’s meeting underscores a proactive push for administrative reforms and citizen-centric governance in Ladakh, signaling increased focus on land rights, local services, and efficient policy implementation.
