Leh: A three-day orientation program on the Holistic Progress Report Card (HPC), a flagship initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, kicked off today at Ladakh Public School, Leh. The training is aimed at Head Teachers and FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) educators from both government and private schools across the district.
The program was inaugurated by Chief Education Officer Leh, Ms. Deldan Angmo, who stressed the importance of integrating HPC into school assessment systems to ensure more meaningful, well-rounded evaluations of student learning.
Around 130 teachers are participating in the training, which focuses on implementing the HPC—a tool developed by NCERT to assess students not just academically, but also in areas of emotional well-being and skill development.
The inaugural session featured key guests including Mr. Mirza Medhi, Principal of DIET Leh, who welcomed the trainers and dignitaries, along with representatives from Nanritam, including Secretary Ms. Ranjana Sen Gupta and Joint Secretary Ms. Srada P. Mahanatha.
Over the next three days, educators will engage in hands-on sessions to understand the framework and application of HPC, with the goal of adopting it across all schools in Leh district in the near future.
