Leh: A memorial event was held on Sunday to mark the fifth anniversary of former Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, late Shri Dorjay Motup at the Dorjay Motup Memorial Park at Housing Colony, Leh.

The ceremony, which took place at the Dorjay Motup Memorial Park, honored his significant contributions and enduring legacy within the community on Sept 1.

Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson; Kyabje Kunga Rinpoche; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi; Nominated Councillor Ven. Konchok Tsepel; Councillors; Former Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Former CEC Rigzin Spalbar; Bjp president Phunchok Stanzin; Bjp vice president; District President Tashi Gyaltsan Kachu; Gonpa association vice president and the family members of late Dorjey Motup paid tribute at his memorial park.

In his address, CEC Tashi Gyalson highlighted the importance of commemorating such events to recognize the significant contributions of the late Dorjey Motup. Reflecting on the former Chairman’s legacy which is marked by his humility, nobility, and dedication to the underprivileged, CEC Gyalson expressed his aspiration to continue in his predecessor’s footsteps, aligning his vision that defined Dorjey Motup’s leadership.

Additionally CEC added that late Dorjey Mortup would be pleased to see his vision realized today, as he had long advocated for Changthang to become a district to improve administrative efficiency.
Addressing the gathering, former MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal ,noted that the creation of Changthang District was a dream of the late Dorjey Motup and emphasized that he would have been pleased to see this accomplishment.

Further he added that former Chairman dedicated his life to serving the people and improving their lives.
