The Leh district administration on Monday held a crucial meeting to initiate the preparation and revision of the market value of immovable property for the calendar year 2026. The meeting took place in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Leh.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Leh Shabir Hussain, along with senior officers from various district and sub-divional departments. Officers posted outside Leh participated through video conferencing.
Participants included the Superintending Engineer, PWD Leh; Chief Horticulture Officer Leh; District Panchayat Officer Leh; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh; Sub-Divisional Magistrates; and Tehsildars from Leh, Nubra, Nyoma, Durbuk, Kharu, Likir, Khaltsi, Saspol, Sumoor and Diskit.
Detailed deliberations were held on finalising the proposed market values for 2026, covering cultivated and uncultivated land, horticultural land, and properties falling under urban development areas. Infrastructure-related assets, including roads, buildings and properties under the Public Works Department and Municipal Committee, were also reviewed. Departments shared field-based assessments to ensure transparency, uniformity and realistic valuation across the district.
Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to ensure accuracy and consistency in valuation and instructed them to submit their final proposals within the stipulated timeframe.
