Kargil: The Tehsil Legal Services Sankoo committee organized a mega awareness program to celebrate International Women’s Week at Zainabia Hall Thang Sakoo Friday.
On the occasion, the incharge Police Post Sankoo, Tsering Dolker was the chief guest, Dr Nasreen Fatima gynecologist was the special guest besides resource persons Advocate Kaneez Fatima , Hasina Banoo from Special Cell for Women, Sapora Banoo from One Stop Center, Anganwadi workers, helpers, female staff of CHC Sankoo, Panches, were present during the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, incharge Police Post Sankoo Tsering Dolker highlighted the importance of gender equality for the holistic development of society. She stressed women to be more vocal in registering their voices against the injustice in society. She also extended her help for the women through Police Post Sankoo.
Dr Nasreen Fatima stressed women to be aware of their reproductive health and advised women to seek medical help without fail.
Resource person Advocate Kaneez Fatima informed about the laws and legislation framed to protect the rights and dignity of women. She also talked about the importance of women empowerment in society. Haseena Banoo and Sapora Banoo delivered their lectures on gender equality and gender justice.
