LAHDC Launches ‘Ladakh Arts and Crafts Photo Competition’ to Showcase the Region’s Stunning Beauty and Culture
Leh: Handicrafts Department, Leh on behalf of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh has announced its “LADAKH ARTS AND CRAFTS PHOTO COMPETITION” to encourage and honour talented photographers of Ladakh and to promote international awareness about the extraordinary visual beauty of Ladakh, its people, arts, crafts and social life.
The competition is being organized by LAHDC, Leh in association with the Centre for Himalayan Asia Studies and Engagement (CHASE). Totake part in the competition, all the talented photographers of the Union Territory of Ladakh are requested to send photo entries. All Ladakhi and non-Ladakhi professional as well as amateur photographers which should depict various aspects of Ladakh’s life and culture can take part in the competition. These include arts and crafts like Wood Carving, Ladakhi Pashmina, Thangka Painting, Costumes, Dances, People of Ladakh, Festivals, Landscapes and Natural Products of Ladakh.
Winners of this competition will be given cash awards, duly honored and their works will be put on public display.
