Nainital, November 2, 2025:
Three talented women boxers from Ladakh delivered impressive performances at the Elite National Women’s Invitational Boxing Championship held in Nainital, Uttarakhand, from October 29 to November 2, 2025.

Representing Ladakh, the athletes showcased grit, skill, and determination on the national stage. Kulsooma Banoo (48–51 kg) from SAI Kargil advanced to the quarterfinals, defeating her opponent from Punjab in the pre-quarterfinals before narrowly losing to Rajasthan.

Asiya Banoo (51–54 kg), also from SAI Kargil, clinched a bronze medal and was honoured as the Best Challenging Boxer of the Championship, recognising her exceptional performance and fighting spirit.

Meanwhile, Farhana Eliyas (65–70 kg) from Leh also secured a bronze medal, adding another proud moment for Ladakh’s boxing fraternity.

Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports, congratulated the athletes for their remarkable achievements and commended their hard work and discipline. He also appreciated the Ladakh Amateur Boxing Association for nurturing local talent and thanked the Sports Authority of India (SAI) for its continuous support in producing players of national and international calibre from the region.
