The development and the progress made by Ladakh has been nothing short of exceptional, as could be seen in the numbers. However, with people of Ladakh at the heart of its governance, the UT administration has always strived to look beyond the figures of development, and give precedence to common people’s aspirations which has earned it rewards giving visibility to their efforts at national level.
Ladakh was presented the PM award for “Excellence in Public Administration 2021 under the category innovation- “Building of efficient Greenhouse to Grow Crops” and received the best UT award by OUTLOOK for sustainable Agriculture in August 2022.
The Health workers of Ladakh were recognised at national level and Government School teachers of Ladakh won National Teachers Awards for three years in a row which speaks of significant improvements and developments in all the sectors in the three years post the formation of the Union territory.
While UT Ladakh is still at its early stages with more firm steps to be taken to ensure a strong foundation for a better and secure future, the administration is framing the pathways to bring into reality the visions set forth by the Government of India for sustainable development of the region. To fulfil the aspirations, voices at all levels need to be heard and considered and UT Administration with its inclusive approach seems committed to achieve every milestone.
