Leh: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting with the officials of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) today. The meeting was attended by Dy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk; EC Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel; EC Horticulture/Forest, Ghulam Mehdi; State Head, NAFED, Rajesh Bawa, and HoDs of the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Cooperative, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and FCS & CA of LAHDC Leh.
State Head, NAFED apprised CEC Gyalson of their objective to promote Cooperative marketing of agricultural produce to benefit the farmers. The officials deliberated in detail on the scope of getting various agronomic and machinery support from NAFED in general for the farmers of Ladakh.
The meeting also discussed various important points including promotion of FPOs, supplying of pulses, edible oil, and other items for ICDS centers, training of farmers, establishing of food processing facilities, cold chain, and schemes related to fodder and silages with their marketing.
