New Delhi: Skarma Sonam Tashi from Ladakh has won a National Award at the 64th National Exhibition of Art, organised by the Lalit Kala Akademi and the Ministry of Culture.
His sculpture, My Homeland – 3, pays tribute to Ladakh’s landscape and architecture, using recycled materials like cardboard, paper mâché, and natural pigments. The piece highlights themes of sustainability and ecological awareness.
Tashi is the first artist from Ladakh to receive this national honour — a proud moment for the region.
The exhibition is open to the public until September 15 at the Lalit Kala Art Gallery, Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi, from 11 AM to 7 PM daily.
