Ladakh Tourism enhances skills in data-driven promotion


KARGIL: A two-day capacity building program on Tourism Survey Methodology, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, GoI, was held on 26th and 27th April.

The program, held at the Food Craft Institute, was attended by Fesal Iqbal Tantray, Assistant Director, Leh, Rehmantulla Bhat, Assistant Director, Kargil, representatives from the Ladakh Tourism department (Leh and Kargil), the Ministry of Tourism, and the SNI Agency.

The training focused on providing participants with hands-on experience in collecting data on domestic and foreign tourists. This data is crucial for developing effective tourism promotion strategies.

To reinforce the learning, participants even visited Shanti Stupa to gain practical experience in data collection techniques.

Kriti Gaikwad (DD) and Rahul Kumar Gupta (AD) from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, along with Jyoti Ranjan Majumdar, senior consultant at National Productivity Council (NPC), conducted the training sessions.

This program is a valuable initiative to help the Ladakh tourism department develop its capacity for data-driven and innovative tourism promotion strategies.
