
Ladakh Taekwondo Association unveils Team Ladakh Jersey
KARGIL: Ladakh Taekwondo Association organized a felicitation ceremony at conference hall TFC Kargil and unveiled the Jersey of Team Ladakh Sunday.
On this occasion Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Town Constituency and Proprietor Kargil Trading Corporation Haji Mohd Abass Adulpa was the chief guest meanwhile Sukhbir Singh Depot Manager Srinagar for British Paints was the Guest of Honour.
DySP DAR Stanzin Dorjey and President District Kargil Olympic Association Haji Mirza Hussain were present on the occasion as Special Guest.
Among other present on this occasion included President Ladakh Taekwondo Association Gulzar Hussain Munshi, Proprietor Amir Constructions Ltd Amir Suhail, Sports Enthusiast and Sponsor Amanullah Khan, President Snow Shoe Association of Ladakh, Shahnawaz Habib Var, Murtaza Ali from KTC, General Secretary District Kargil Olympic Association Syed Mehraj Shah, Executive Members and Players and Parents.
Addressing the gathering, President Ladakh Taekwondo Association said that it’s for the first time in the history of sports in Ladakh that the whole team was sponsored by India’s leading paint company British Paints in collaboration with its Ladakh Dealer Kargil Trading Corporation.
He thanked Kargil Trading Corporation for making this happen and motivating Sukhbir Singh and other authorities in British Paints to sponsor the Team Ladakh. The team recently participated in the National Championships at University of Kota Rajasthan.
Gulzar Hussain Munshi said that as there remaind always a constraint of funds so players had to bear the expenses, and now such sponsorship have reduced the burden and encouraged the players to improve their game and shine by giving their best.
He said that the motive of organizing the event was to encourage more members from the Corporate Sector to come forward in the making of future stars. He further added that the team of 24 players and coach has won one Gold, a Silver and one Bronze in the National Championship.
Chief Guest, Haji Mohd Abass while addressing the gathering thanked British Paints for the sponsorship. He assured that such sponsorships will continue in future as it’s the fundamental duty of the Company to spend under CSR in the area of operation and said that CSR has a great role in the development of sports and sportsperson in Kargil, Ladakh.
Sukhbir Singh of British Paint assured that the company will always remain at the front to invest in the future of India and sports is such a sector wherein if we invest we are saving a generation from going in wrong directions.
He further added that those who fill our lives with colors often don’t have the means to colour their own, that is why British Paints has taken this initiative to paint the future of Ladakh with its CSR Initiative.
Later while talking to Media, Anayat Ali General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association said that in his 24 years of sports career as a player as well as an administrator, this is for the first time that Taekwondo having 3 State Awards for Ladakh, dozens of International players, and National Medalists has got such a great sponsorship from Kargil Trading Corporation and British Paints.
The development has motivated us to do our best in future to produce more and more National as well as International Players, he concluded.
