Ladakh Seabuckthorn product of wonder gets GI Tag

LEH: ‘Ladakh Seabuckthorn’, a product of wonder with immense health and medicinal benefits and potential has received the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) Tag.
Executive Councillor, Horticulture, Ghulam Mehdi presented the GI Certificate to the Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson.

Ladakh Seabuckthorn is the 4th product from Ladakh to receive GI Tag after Ladakh Pashmina, Ladakh Apricot (Raktsey Karpo) and Ladakhi Wood Carving. Within a short span of time, UT Ladakh has strived hard to seek recognition for its unique products and has received GI Tags respectively.

Seabuckthorn is the chosen product of Leh district under #OneDistrictOneProduct Scheme and LAHDC Leh is committed to provide support and avenues for all the entrepreneurs engaged in seabuckthorn related activities.
