Leh: Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal on Friday requested Union Government for early sanction of 50 numbers of Road Projects and attended annual governing body meeting.
As per official handout, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal alongwith Sh. Tonyot Tashi Chairman Ladakh Contractor Association Leh met Ashish Kumar Goel, Additional Secretary/DG Rural Connectivity, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of lndia in Krishi Bhavan New Delhi and requested for earlier Sanctioning of 50 numbers of Road Projects (23 projects from Leh and 27 projects from Kargil Districts, totalling to 425.65 Kms at an estimated construction cost of Rs. 489.22 Crore) under PMGSY-III in respect of Union Territory of Ladakh.
Chief Engineer PW(R&B) Ladakh has submitted the proposal of the projects for sanctioning under PMGSY-III duly recommended by the Member of Parliament from Ladakh and accordingly the projects have been approved by State Level Standing Committee of Ladakh and forwarded to the Ministry of Rural Development for neccesary sanction of these projects at the earliest.
Earlier, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal attended annual Governing Body Meeting of Ashoka Mission at Mehrauli in New Delhi and discussed various agenda points including Health Camp conducted in Leh, Zanskar and Kargil, shelter and assistance for patients come from Ladakh for treatment in Delhi etc. Also discussed future plans of the Ashoka Mission including Health Camp 2023 to be conducted in Leh and other important matters.
The meeting was Chaired by Ven. Lama Lobzang Kau and attended by Sh. Thupstan Chewwang, Dr. Yangchan Dolma, Dr. Ishey Namgyal, Prof. Dorje Dawa Shamshu, Sh. Tonyot Tashi, Sh. Phuntsok Gyamdu and Sh. Tashi Motup Kau.
Meanwhile, MP met Zanskar Delegation in Delhi and discussed various issues pertaining to the overal development of Zanskar valley in Union Territory of Ladakh. The delegation comprising public representatives including Sarpanches, Chairman of BDC and Councillor headed by Sh. Stanzin Lakpa Hon’ble District President of BJP Zanskar specially came to Delhi to peruse the demand for separate District for Zanskar valley with Government of India.
