Leh: Ladakh Member of Parliament, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal on Saturday congratulated staff and students of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies – for the successful implementation of the Rules & Regulations of the University Grant Commission (UGC).

“I congratulate people of Ladakh especially the staffs and students of Central Institute of BuddhistStudies – Deemed to be University for the successfully implementation of Rules & Regulations of the University Grant Commission in CIBS. Implementing the UGC Regulations the staff members of the CIBS got justice through modification in the Pay Scale and Nomenclature as per UGC norms for the first time w.e.f. 15.01.2016.” he said.
“Prior to this good news we have successfully redressed numbers of genuine concerns of CIBS including Extension of Provisional Period of Deemed to be University, Authentication of Marks Cards & Certificates of Students, Revival of affiliation with SSVV Varanasi, Relaxation & Absorption of Geshes & Khanpos on their regular posts, Registration of CIBS Sr. Sec. School on the portal of CBSE and opened CIBS branch School in Drikung Kagyu Dorje Ying Monastery in Dehradun etc.,” he added
He also thanked Union Minister Kishan Reddy Gangapuram, MoS Meenakshi Lekhi, Secretary and Joint Secretary of the Culture Ministry for their proactive supports.
He was also thankful to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Baidyanath Labh, Adl. Adm. Officers Sh. Tashi Ram and Dr. Konchok Rigzin, Principal Dr. I.B. Jha and all the team of CIBS for the dedication and sincere cooperation to strengthen the CIBS in larger interest.
“As envisioned and guided by His Eminence 19th Skyabje rGyalsras Bakula Rinpoche, our commitment to strengthen the CIBS as an important Buddhism learning Instituation in the Indian Himalayan region which was made Deemed to be University by Modi Sarkar is realising on ground,” he added.
An important meeting to redress the issues was Co-Chaired by Jamyang Tsering Namgyal of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Sh. Govind Mohan (IAS) Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in CIBS on 30th May 2022 and the dignitaries present in the meeting were Amita Prasad Sarbhai, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, GoI, Prof (Dr.) Baidyanath Labh, Vice Chancellor, CIBS, Ms. Padma Angmo, Secretary, Higher Education, UT Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali, Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Ladakh, Acharya Stanzin Wangdak, President, Ladakh Gonpa Association, Leh, Officials, Staffs and Students Leaders of CIBS Leh.
