Leh, June 12: In a major push to improve the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ecosystem in Ladakh, the Department of Industries & Commerce on Friday organized a Training-cum-Workshop on the newly launched Single Window Portal, aimed at streamlining business approvals and investor services through a unified digital platform.
The Single Window Portal, launched on May 25, 2026, currently offers 24 live services from various government departments and is designed to provide faster, transparent and efficient clearances for businesses, entrepreneurs and investors in the Union Territory.
The workshop was attended by officers and representatives from several departments, including Agriculture, Industries & Commerce, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest, Housing & Urban Development, Power Development, Public Health Engineering, Public Works (R&B), Legal Metrology, State Taxes and other stakeholder agencies.
Officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Information Technology Department conducted detailed training sessions on the portal’s features and functionality. Participants were briefed on user registration, application processing, workflow management, service delivery modules and tracking mechanisms.
The resource persons also highlighted key features of the portal, including “Know Your Approvals,” investor services, departmental dashboards, government schemes, policies, incentives, land bank information, RAMP initiatives and online monitoring of application status and approvals.
Practical demonstrations and interactive sessions enabled departmental officers to gain hands-on experience in managing applications and delivering services through the digital platform. Discussions focused on improving coordination among departments and ensuring timely processing of applications under the Ease of Doing Business framework.
An interactive question-and-answer session was also held, during which officials raised queries related to workflow processes, departmental responsibilities, approval authorities, service integration and portal operations. Experts from NIC addressed the concerns and provided clarifications on various technical and procedural aspects.
The workshop concluded with a collective commitment from participating departments to actively utilize the Single Window Portal and strengthen Ladakh’s business ecosystem through transparent, efficient and technology-driven governance.
The initiative is expected to significantly enhance investor confidence, reduce procedural delays and make government services more accessible for businesses across the Union Territory.
