Leh: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, has called upon the Indian diaspora and industrialists to view Ladakh as “an emerging hub of sustainable innovation and strategic investment,” with the goal of transforming the region into “a model of inclusive, eco-sensitive, and high-impact development.”
This vision was shared during a meeting with the People of India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PIOCCI) delegation in New Delhi.
The delegation, led by Secretary General Kirti Sharma and Lalit Mahajan, discussed ways to boost foreign investments in Ladakh and announced plans to organize a Global Investment Summit focused exclusively on the Union Territory.
LG Gupta highlighted the vast potential for development across sectors such as eco-tourism, renewable energy, agro-based industries, cultural exports, and education.
He assured that the Government of India is fully committed to building a business-friendly ecosystem in Ladakh through incentives, infrastructure support, and streamlined policies.
Later in the day, LG Gupta paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib, where he was warmly welcomed by Harmeet Singh Kalka, President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, and Jagdip Singh Kahlon, General Secretary.
He lauded the Sikh community’s enduring commitment to humanitarian service, including running community kitchens (langars), offering disaster relief, and building schools and hospitals.
He praised their unwavering dedication as a reflection of the values of compassion, equality, and collective responsibility.
