Ladakh Education Fair-2023 begins at GDC Nobra
NOBRA: The 2nd edition of two days Ladakh Education affair- 2023 organized by Government Degree College Nobra in collaboration with Higher Education Department, UT Ladakh and Ladakh Skill Development Mission begins at GDC Nobra on Thursday.
Prof Deskyong Namgyal, Controller of Examination, University of Ladakh, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The event was attended by students and teachers of various Secondary and Higher secondary schools of Nobra valley, teachers and students of GDC Nobra, parents and general public of Nobra region.
The programme started off with the welcome speech by worthy Principal Dr Nilza Angmo, followed by release of ‘Ldumra’, a biannual newsletter compiled by the Media wing of college. It was followed by welcome song and various cultural programs by the students of GDC Nobra.
Prof. Deskyong Namgyal thanked the organizers for organising such mega event and appreciated the efforts of teachers and all educators of Higher Education for shaping the children’s future. He talked about the importance of educational learning and skills through Ladakh Education Fair. It was followed by vote of thanks of inaugural session by Stanzin Itga, Assistant Professor.
After the inaugural session, chief guest and other dignitaries visited the exhibition stalls on agriculture, horticulture, sports, books and bank schemes, and also visited science model competition on theme ‘Education for Sustainable Future’ by students of various schools of Nubra region.
Technical lecture session begins afterward. In this session, eminent speakers like Dr Nordan Otzer and Jigmet Singer spoke chkchik Chachok campaign- Healthy food and healthy lifestyle, renowned historian Haji Adul Razak spoke on history of Nobra valley.
Similarly, Renowned Ladakhi film maker Stanzin Dorjai Gya take on career in film making and also showcased a documentary film ‘Somewhere on Earth’, while as Dr Zahid Hussain enlightened students on career in medical sciences, and Rishi Dutt spoke on career in banking services. The event ends with musical session by famous vocalist Stanzin Lhungrik and cultural program by students of GDC Nobra.
