Ladakh Celebrates International Mother Language Day

Celebrating International Mother Language Day, the Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture of Languages, Leh organised a day-long symposium themed, ‘Socio-Cultural significance of Mother Language’ at Lotsava Auditorium.

This year’s UNESCO’s theme for International Mother Language Day is “Multilingual education – a necessity to transform education”.

Dy Chairman/EC Education, Tsering Angchuk was the chief guest of the occasion. Cultural Officer, LAACL Leh, Prominent scholars of Ladakh, and young research scholars attended the day-long symposium.

All the scholars and researchers shared their paper presentation and piece of poetry highlighting the significance of mother language and the importance of preserving and promoting Ladakhi literature.
