Leh: In continuation to the ongoing Ladakh police martyrs memorial cricket tournament in the Sub divisions of Leh district, today the final match of the cricket tournament concluded at Khalsi Sub division (Basgo) and at District Hqr Leh (NDS stadium) respectively.
On the occasion Sh Stanzin Norbu SSP (AIG Pers) police Hqr Leh was the chief guest and sh Stanzin Losal SSP CID was the guest of honour, Add. DC Leh was the special guest and other police and civil administration officers were also present to witness the exciting match. DYSP Hqr Leh Sh Regzin Sangdup welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries and gave a brief outline with aim and objective of organising this cricket tournament by district police Leh.
At Leh the final match was played between Shelkhar and Avengers in which Avengers won the match. The winning team was awarded with a Trophy and cash prize of Rs 20,000/ whereas the runner up team awarded with Trophy and cash prize of Rs 15,000/ and the man of the match was also awarded with a Trophy and cash prize of Rs 5000/ respectively. The match officials were also presented with mementous as a token of appreciation.
Sh, Stanzin Norbu SSP, while speaking on the occasion highly appreciated the players who have professionally played the game with highest sportsmanship spirit and reiterate that Ladakh Police under the leadership of ADGP UT Ladakh is always stand behind the youths in promoting sports in the region viz a viz remembering the brave souls of Ladakh Police who made supreme sacrifices in the line of duty.
In the sub division Khalsi the final match was played between Sham brother and Lamayuru in which Sham brother won the match.
Hon’ble Councillor Khalsi and Temisgam were the chief guests on the occasion and among other sarpanch and BDCs were also present.
Similarly the winning team was awarded with Trophy and cash prize of Rs 20,000 and runner up team was awarded with Trophy and cash prize of Rs 15,000, and man of match was also awarded with Trophy and cash prize of Rs 5000, all the match officials were presented with mementous on the occasion in appreciation to their service provided during the tournament.
The Hon’ble councillors have thanks the Ladakh police for organising such a big cricket tournament in the entire region of Leh for the Ist time and such step is paramount as a youth engagement programme and timely remembrance of martyrs of Ladakh police is equally needed to pay homage to their sacrifices.
