LEH: The Chief Secretary and the Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal the other day flagged off a digital CSC van and the Administrative Secretary of Information Technology, Shashanka Ala formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSC at the Civil Secretariat Leh.
This milestone event marks a new chapter in digital empowerment and e-governance for the people of Ladakh.
The MoU aims to strengthen the delivery of digital services, enhance citizen engagement, and promote entrepreneurship through CSCs across the region.
The initiative will facilitate access to essential government and non-government services, including digital literacy, banking, and e-commerce, bridging the digital divide in remote areas.
General Manager, State head J&K and Ladakh, Common Service Centres Faizan Manzoor presented a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation covering the significant features of digital CSC van, and the services offered by the Common Service Centres across India.
He further added that that two small CSC vans enabled with VSAT are already operational. These vans visit villages and offer doorstep digital services.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the awareness regarding these e-governance services should be given to the people.
He further instructed the concerned officials to revive the existing services, and asked to avoid the services which are not required for the people of the region.
During the flag-off ceremony, the Chief Secretary emphasized on the importance of digital inclusion in Ladakh’s development and commended CSC’s efforts in bringing technology-driven solutions to rural and far-flung areas.
He highlighted that the collaboration will boost employment opportunities, skill development, and ease of access to public services.
CSC vans are mobile vans used by Common Service Centres to provide e governance services to people in their communities. They are internet-enabled access points that offer government and public services, which will benefit residents of UT Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by Administrative Secretary Information Technology UT Ladakh; General Manager CSC; Village Level Entrepreneurs of CSC and other concerned officials from the IT Department of UT Ladakh.
