Ladakh Admin issues advisory amid huge inflow of Tourists to cold desert
Leh: In view of instances of problems being faced by tourists, visitors like not getting accommodation at places like Pangong etc. Ladakh Administration, Directorate of Tourism has issued advisory for the safe and secure visit cum stay of tourists touring the UT.
Considering the huge inflow of tourists, visitors in the UT of Ladakh, the following Advisory is hereby issued to ensure safe & secure visit and stay in the UT of Ladakh.
The advisory read, “Tourists, visitors are advised to travel to Ladakh by road/air with proper pre-booking (through registered travel agents/tour operators) of accommodation.”
It further read, Pangong Lake area is a wild-life notified sanctuary and hence accommodation availability is limited. Considering the limited accommodation available, tourists/visitors should avoid plan of stay at Pangong without prior booking of accommodation.
Tourists/visitors are advised to not travel to high altitude areas such as Khardongla, Changla, Pangong Lake, Tsomoriri, Penzela etc. before 48 hours from the time of landing/arrival at Leh.
The district administration of Leh/Kargil websitc (www.leh.nic.in/ www.kareil.nicin) or www.ladakh.nic.in may be visited for latest advisories.
To avoid inconvenience tourists/visitors are advised to book taxi/conveyance in advance through registered travel agents/tour operators.
Tourists/visitors are advised to contribute in maintenance of cleanliness at all tourist spots and along all routes.
Tourists/visitors are advised to respect nature, environment, local traditions and culture and follow all rules, regulations and advisories issued by the district administration (Leh & Kargil) and the tourism department, UT of Ladakh.
