Leh: The administration of Ladakh has asked people to furnish Aadhar card along with other documents to avail benefits of schemes.

As per order issued by Forest, Ecology & Environment Department, Ladakh reads that the Aadhaar as an identity document for delivery of services or benefits or subsidies simplifies the Government delivery processes, brings in transparency and efficiency, and enables beneficiaries to get their entitlements directly in a convenientand seamless manner by obviating the need to produce multiple documents to prove one’s identity
“Whereas, the use of Aadhaar as an identity document for delivery of services or benefits or subsidies simplifies the Government delivery processes, brings in transparency and efficiency, and enables beneficiaries to get their entitlements directly in a convenientand seamless manner by obviating the need to produce multiple documents to prove one’s identity,” the order reads.
“And whereas, the Department of Forests Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as the Department), is administering the compensation policy (hereinafter referred to as the Scheme) to compensate for loss of life or injury, property damage by Brown bears and domestic cattle depredation by wild carnivores, which is being implemented through the Department of Wildlife Protection (hereinafter referred to as the Implementing Agency): And whereas, under the Scheme, Financial support as compensation to loss of life, injury, property, domestic cattle (hereinafter referred to as the benefit) is given to the residents of union territory of Ladakh (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries), by the Implementing Agency as per the extant Scheme guidelines; And whereas, the aforesaid Scheme involves recurring expenditure incurred from the Consolidated Fund of India; Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 7 of the Aadhar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016) read with S.0.3836 (E) dated 05.12.2017, the Administration of the union territory of Ladakh,” the order reads.
