Kargil: The Labour Department Kargil Monday observed the ‘World Day Against Child Labour’ with theme ‘Social Justice for All – End Child Labour’.
In view of the observance of the day, the Labour Department Kargil launched a campaign to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of child labour.
As part of the campaign, the department conducted inspections in various areas to identify instances of child labour and take appropriate action to prevent it.
Labour Inspector Amina Khatoon interacted with local authorities, community organizations and other stakeholders to educate parents and employers about the importance of eliminating child labour and various provisions under the law.
Further, she briefed that every child has the right to a safe and healthy childhood, free from exploitation and abuse and urged everyone to join hands to end child labour.
