Kargil, November 5: The 556th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual fervour at Gurudwara Charan Kamal, Kargil, where Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon, joined devotees in paying homage to the revered Guru.
The celebrations began with the recitation of Akhand Path and soulful Kirtan, filling the Gurudwara Sahib with an atmosphere of peace and divine grace. A large gathering of devotees from both the civil and Army sangats attended the event, reflecting upon the timeless teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and a beacon of universal love and equality.
Addressing the congregation, Dr. Akhoon highlighted Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s eternal message of compassion, humility, equality, and service to humanity, urging everyone to follow his path of truth and harmony. He lauded the local Sikh community for upholding the values of peace and brotherhood, which strengthen the social fabric of Kargil.
The celebration concluded with the serving of Guru ka Langar, where devotees shared a sacred meal symbolizing unity, humility, and selfless service — the core principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings.
