The State Level India Skills Competition in Beauty Therapy and Fashion Technology concluded today at Government ITI Kargil, where Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar IAS felicitated the winners, marking a significant push toward strengthening the skill ecosystem in the district.
Senior officials including ADC Imteeaz Kacho, Principal GDC Kargil Disket Angmo, State Engagement Coordinator Radhika Sharma, UT Nodal Officer for Skill Courses Dr. Javed Naqi and ITI representatives were present during the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to integrate academics with hands-on skills to harness Ladakh’s demographic potential. He urged students to build employable skills along with formal education and explore emerging opportunities such as freelancing to ensure financial independence. He assured full administrative support for future initiatives aimed at enhancing youth skill development.
He later awarded certificates and trophies to winners of both the State Level and District Level competitions.
Earlier, Dr. Javed Naqi said Ladakh hosting the India Skills Competition is a milestone under NEP reforms and reflects growing confidence among local youth, who are now competing nationally in contemporary trades such as Graphic Design and Beauty Therapy. He noted that such exposure paves the way for future global participation.
