
Kacho Mehboob takes stock of tourism, culture infrastructure works
Henaskot: Administrative Secretary Tourism Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan Sunday took stock of tourism and culture infrastructure works at Henaskot, Bodh Kharboo, Fokar.
Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan took stock of the status, enroute to Kargil, of ongoing works on infrastructural projects of Tourism & Culture departments at Heniskote, Bodh-Kharboo and Fokar Orgyan Dzong Cave Monastery.
The Administrative Secretary inspected the upgradation and renovation work of the tourist dak bungalow at Heniskote along the National Highway and instructed the concerned officers of Tourism Department, Kargil and Kargil Development Authority (KDA) to complete the ongoing work in a time-bound manner. He stressed on strict adherence to quality and quantity parameters in the execution of the project. He directed that no compromise with planned parameters will be tolerated.
At Bodh-Kharboo, Secretary Khan visited the site for construction of museum near the monastery at Youkmal under SDP and emphasized on the need for coordinated efforts among the executing agency, public representatives, monastery management and the concerned consultant to ensure successful execution of work on this project of heritage importance.
He urged the publice representatives & monastery management to extend full cooperation & support in preparing the inventory of artefacts to Registering Officer, Antiquities Department, Ladakh. These artefacts will form part of the heritage articles to be kept & displayed in the museum once it is completed.
The Administrative Secretary also visited the historical Fokar Orgyan Dzong Cave Monastery by trekking for more than 8 kilometres (to and fro) from Serjing Wakha and took stock of ongoing works on construction of foot path of 2.5 Kms and the guest-house cum public amenity for tourists/visitors near the famed cave monastery. Secretary Khan directed the engineers of KDA to expedite work on the minor patches of difficult rocky area to be completed at the earliest so that the path is ready by Hemis Tsechu this year. The Secretary stressed to expedite the pace of ongoing works to make the facility operational for tourists/visitors in this season.
The Secretary also directed the Engineers of KDA to process the pending bills immediately and make payments to the contractors after due verification of the completed works.
The Administrative Secretary also interacted with public representatives/locals at Bodh-Kharboo and Serjing Wakha and listened to their issues and developmental needs. He assured them of appropriate measures for redressal of the issues.
Executive Engineer, KDA Morup Dorjay; OSD/Under Secretary to Administrative Secretary, Muhammad Ali Tak; Assistant Tourist Officer, Ghulam Rasool Lal, Engineers of KDA besides other officials accompanied the Administrative Secretary during the tour.
