Jammu, December 22:
Shri Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jammu & Kashmir Bank, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Lt Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, in Jammu and discussed issues related to banking outreach, financial inclusion and digital services in the Union Territory.
During the meeting, Shri Chatterjee briefed the Lt Governor on the bank’s ongoing initiatives and its commitment to expanding banking services in Ladakh, particularly in remote and far-flung areas.
The Lt Governor appreciated the role played by J&K Bank in supporting economic growth in the region and underlined the importance of a strong and accessible banking system to promote sustainable development, employment generation and ease of doing business in Ladakh.
Encouraging the bank to further strengthen its customer-centric approach, Shri Kavinder Gupta stressed the need to leverage digital banking solutions to ensure easy access to credit and financial services for people living in remote areas. He emphasised that enhancing last-mile banking connectivity is vital for achieving inclusive growth, financial empowerment and economic self-reliance in the region.
