
LEH: Deputy General Manager, J&K Bank Leh, Tsewang Dorjay, and Zonal Head J&K Bank Leh, Dorjay Angchuk called on Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson Monday.
CEC Tashi Gyalson enquired about reports on the equity shareholding status of Ladakh, the early commissioning of ATMs in rural areas, the position of sanctioning loans by J&K Bank, and the status of the establishing J&K Bank’s Branch in rural areas including one at Likir in their expansion plan for the year 2023-24.
Dy General Manager apprised H’CEC of the bank’s plans to provide mobile banking services to the people of Ladakh, which will help in bringing banking services to the remote areas of the region.
The early commissioning of ATMs in rural areas was also discussed, where the Dy GM informed about the installation of ATMs at strategic locations including one at Lukung, adjacent to Pangong Lake.
He further informed that J&K Bank has approved 70% of the total loan sanctioned in UT Ladakh under priority sectors.
The initiatives and measures taken by J&K Bank so far to improve banking services in the region were appreciated by CEC Tashi Gyalson. The senior officers of J&K Bank also assured their commitment to providing the best possible banking services to the people of Ladakh.
