Inter school tournaments conclude in Shargole, nearly 1200 students participate

SHARGOLE: In Ladakh, the inter Zonal School Level Tournaments of U14, U17 and U19 boys and girls volley ball, hand ball, archery, table tennis and track and field events are going on in all the zones of the district.

The Zonal Physical Education Office Shargole concluded the events at Government Higher Secondary School Shargole.

Around 1160 student, players of 29 different middle, high and higher secondary schools of Shargole zone participated in the tournament.

During the finals, Acting Tehsildar Shargole Sonam Joldan was the Chief Guest while BMO Shargole Dr Zahida Khatoon was the guest of honour.

Joldan said that sports makes a man healthy both physically and mentally and it’s important for the students to indulge in sports activity.

He further said that in the New Education Policy sports has been introduced as a compulsory subject so that the students can be prepared as a professional sportsman from gross root level.

Earlier ZPEO Mohd Sadiq Shiekh presented traditional Khataq to the guests, welcomed them and briefed about the tournament.
