In trials, 35 players among 60 selected for Taekwondo Nationals


LAHDC CEC Felicitated Junior National Medalist with Traditional Khataks

Leh: Youths who want to pursue sports as a profession have got an easy opportunity to prove themselves after Ladakh Became a Union Territory.

This was stated by Ladakh Kargil CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan while talking to taekwondo players during the trials for Cadet and Sub Junior Nationals by Taekwondo Federation of India at Rajasthan.

The trail was conducted at Sports Authority of India Centre Kargil in which players from both Kargil and Leh District Participated.

The Trail was conducted under the overall supervision of Ghulam Mustafa In charge SAI as Observer from SAI Centre Kargil, Safdar Ali Observer from Kargil District Olympic Association, and NIS Coach Mohd Ali and Mohd Ali Baghi as Observer from Ladakh Taekwondo Association.

CEC Feroz Khan while appreciating the achievements of Ladakh Taekwondo Association one of the successful sports organizations of Ladakh said that the spree of producing world class players is still continuing and LAHDC Kargil will always support the association for that.

CEC said that various developmental works have been achieved in the last four years and expressed happiness that the LAHDC Kargil has kept special provision for Sports Equipment under its Subsidy Scheme.

Anayat Ali General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association while talking on this occasion said that the association is the first organised sports body which has been working in sports administration from the last 25 years and earlier it was working under the Name Kargil Taekwondo Association which is still active in the District an after Ladakh became UT Ladakh Taekwondo Association came into existence.

He thanked the Ministry of Sports Government of India for providing a SAI Centre at Kargil which is helping them to producing international level players and requested the Ministry to increase the Capacity of Taekwondo Inmates in the Centre which was decreased from 35 to 15.

A total of 60 players participated in the Trials and 35 players selected for Cadet, Sub Junior and Senior Nationals.

Later CEC felicitated Players who won Medals in the recently concluded Junior National Championship at Bareilly UP With Traditional Khataks.
