KARGIL: In Ladakh, a bid to bolster early childhood development and nutritional initiatives, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in Kargil has inaugurated a pioneering two-day training program dubbed “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” for Anganwadi Workers.
The initiative, held at the esteemed Academy Hall in Kargil, aims to equip workers with comprehensive knowledge and essential skills crucial for nurturing children during their formative years.
The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Kargil, Parveen Akhtar, underscored the program’s core motive, emphasizing its pivotal role in promoting early stimulation, providing high-quality play-based early childhood care and education, and reinforcing understanding of nutrition, including Poshan 2.0 and Saksham Anganwadi initiatives.
With a strong emphasis on capacity building and skill enhancement, the training program seeks to empower Anganwadi workers to effectively cater to the diverse needs of children under their care.
Parveen Akhtar reiterated the program’s commitment to holistic development, foundational literacy, and numeracy, ensuring a comprehensive approach to child welfare in the region.
On this occasion resource persons, including Mohd Ayub State Coordinator, Shama Zahra Project Assistant, and CDPO Shargole Farida Batool, lent their expertise to the training sessions, enriching the learning experience for participants.
Their contributions further solidified the program’s objectives of fostering a nurturing environment for children’s optimal growth and well-being.
