In Ladakh, the Ladakh Academy Confederation today organized a Book and Study Material Distribution Programme under the Operation Sadbhavana initiative of the Indian Army, marking a historic step in educational empowerment in the region.
For the first time in Kargil, free UPSC NDA (Written) coaching is being provided to local aspirants. A total of 45 students have enrolled under the programme and have successfully filled their application forms for the UPSC NDA Examination scheduled for April 2026.
The study material was distributed to the students by Commander 121 Brigade, Brigadier Ashish Joshi, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar (IAS), Commanding Officer Colonel Amul Sali, and Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Ishtiyaq Kacho.
Director, Ladakh Academy Confederation, Ghulam Mohammad Khan, briefed the gathering about the activities and journey of the Confederation, highlighting its commitment towards guiding youth from Ladakh towards competitive examinations and national service.
Addressing the students, Brigadier Ashish Joshi emphasized the importance of time management and advised aspirants to limit or delete social media usage, stating that doing so could free up one to two extra hours daily for focused preparation.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing such a meaningful programme and for providing quality study material, which he said would greatly help aspirants in achieving their goals.
The dignitaries lauded the joint efforts of the Indian Army and Ladakh Academy Confederation in empowering the youth of this remote region and motivating them to serve the nation through the armed forces. The initiative was widely appreciated as a significant contribution towards education, youth empowerment, and nation-building in Ladakh.
