Hill Council Leh condoles passing of reverted Ven Lama Lobzang

Leh: On behalf of the Hill Council Leh, the Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson condoled the sad demise of reverted Ven. Lama Lobzang in New Delhi.

“Deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the loss of Ven Lama Lobzang. He was a revered stalwart and icon of philanthropy who dedicated his life to serving the people of Ladakh and beyond. My prayers for a swift transition of the noble soul,” stated CEC Tashi Gyalson.

Ven. Lama Lobzang was a beacon of compassion and selfless service to humanity. His pivotal role in establishing connections with esteemed medical institutions such as AIIMS and his tireless advocacy for the welfare of Ladakhi patients will forever be remembered as one of his unforgettable legacies.

Through his relentless efforts, he facilitated specialised medical treatment for countless individuals ensuring that the people of Ladakh received the care they deserved.

Ven Lama Lobzang was also the architect of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) and worked tirelessly to preserve the Buddhist heritage of India and promote it by uniting Buddhist communities worldwide through cultural exchange and dialogues.

He also served the Govt. of India in various capacities representing the minority communities and advocating for the social and economic upliftment of the socially weaker sections.

He was one of the leaders who contributed immensely in apprising the Govt. of India for the declaration of the indigenous people of Ladakh as Scheduled Tribes.

We, at the LAHDC Leh express our deepest condolences to the close associates at Ashoka Mission, family members of Ven. Lama Lobzang and the entire people of Ladakh. His legacy will continue to guide us, and we should uphold the values of service and compassion that he exemplified.
