Hill Council keen to promote, preserve Bhoti Language: CEC Gyalson

Leh: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson in the presence of Executive Councillor, IT, Stanzin Chosphel chaired a meeting on the development of ‘Bhoti App’ with the Monlam IT representatives led by Director, Geshe Lobzang Monlam Wednesday.

Internal Audit Officer, LAHDC Leh, Jigmet Namgyal; Director NIELIT, Phuntsog Toldan; District Informatics Officer, NIC Leh, Tashi Tundup along with other concerned representatives from Monlam IT and CIBS Choglamsar led by Associate Professor Geshe Konchok Thupstan, Assistant Professors Dr Tsewang Yangjor and Geshe Jamyang Kunzang.

CEC Tashi Gyalson lauded the commendable works, such as Monlam elementary and advanced dictionaries, Monlam Unicode, etc, initiated by Geshe Lobzang Monlam led Monlam IT in the development, promotion and preservation of the Bhoti language.

Regarding the development of Bhoti App, CEC Gyalson instructed Monlam IT representatives to submit a proposal for development of a ‘Bhoti Elementary Dictionary’ as per the discussed requirement and suggestions.

CEC Gyalson shed light on the keen interest of the Hill Council in the promotion and preservation of Bhoti Language and expressed elation over the opportunity to work with Monlam IT furthering the same cause and also hoped to work together in the future as well.
