HH Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam delegation call on LG Mishra
Leh: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) met His Holiness 43rd Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, at Raj Niwas.
HH Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche informed about his plans during his stay in Ladakh, including his visit to Zanskar, till March 15.
He apprised HLG of his educational and spiritual background. He also informed about Sakya Academy, a school founded by him at Dehradun which is dedicated to providing an all-round education based on Buddhist principles to enable them to acquire wisdom and knowledge.
HH Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche informed the LG of various social welfare activities conducted by him and the followers of the Sakya lineage, primarily in the field of education.
He stressed the importance of compassion, truly understanding one’s religion to maintain universal harmony and world peace and working for the greater good of the people.
The LG stated that making the child a good human being and a good citizen is the biggest contribution of the parents. He emphasized on the overall personality development of a child along with academic studies.
He also assured HH Sakya Trizin Gyana Vajra Rinpoche of all possible assistance for the people of the Buddhist community.
A delegation from Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam led by Advocate Mohd Ramzan met HLG at Raj Niwas. Advocate Ramzan apprised the LG of the formation of the organization for the development of the people of the Sunni community.
He informed about various initiatives taken by Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam for the development of education through its five schools in Nubra and Leh.
He also informed about free coaching provided to Civil Services exam aspirants.
Advocate Ramzan informed about free healthcare facilities provided to the needy patients from Ladakh at two of its physiotherapist centres.
He also informed about the sacrifices and contributions made by the people of the Sunni community for the security and safety of the nation.
The LG appreciated their work and asked them to conduct blood donation camps and also assist aspiring youth during the Agniveer recruitment drives.
He also assured of all possible help for the people of the Muslim community.
