LEH: In view of the upcoming visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Ladakh in July 2025, Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, accompanied by DC, CEO LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve; President LBA, Tsering Dorjey Lakrook, President LGA Gyen Tsering Angdus, Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurbu; and concerned officials, on Thursday conducted a site visit to Jeve Tsal Photang to inspect the ongoing preparations and review the arrangements at the venue.

During the visit, the CEC directed all departments to ensure proper coordination and complete the infrastructure and logistical arrangements in a timely manner to ensure a smooth and dignified visit of His Holiness.

He also instructed the concerned departments to prepare a proper DPR and carry out essential tasks such as channelisation of water and the setting up of a kitchen facility, among other key arrangements.

Later, the CEC, accompanied by DC Santosh Sukhadeve, Councillor Tundup Nurbu, and concerned officials, visited the Dharma Centre in Choglamsar to review the ongoing preparations for the Ladakh Smonlam Chenmo 2025, scheduled to begin from May 18.

He emphasised that all necessary arrangements and basic facilities should be put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

Directions were issued to the departments concerned to fulfil their responsibilities with proper coordination and within the stipulated time.

Those present during the visits included the ADC/CEO, Leh Development Authority; Superintending Engineer, PWD Leh; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh; Addl. SP; Executive Engineers from the Construction Division, Irrigation & Flood Control, Public Health & Engineering Division, Electric Distribution Division, and Leh Development Authority; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh; LBA Youth Wing President; CRO Secretary and other officials.
