Drass, May 04, 2026: In a proactive push to strengthen healthcare delivery, Deputy Commissioner Drass Imteeaz Kacho today conducted a detailed inspection of the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Drass to assess facilities and service standards.
Accompanied by SDM Drass Vishal Atri, the DC was received by BMO Drass Dr. Sajjad Hussain and hospital staff. The inspection covered key sections including OPD, drug store, labour room and other units.
The DC reviewed availability of essential medicines, medical equipment, hygiene standards, and basic amenities like toilets, while also assessing overall service delivery. He interacted with patients and staff to gather firsthand feedback, stressing the need for cleanliness, adequate medicine stock, and timely patient care.
Directing officials to address gaps on priority, the DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and services in the region.
Earlier, the DC also met multiple delegations from areas including Kharbu, Thasgam, Jasgund, Khiber, Shimsha, Muradbagh and Ranbirpur, along with representatives of the Pensioners Association and Hanfia Masjid, discussing key public welfare issues.
He further held interactions with officials from the Block Development Office, Zonal Education Department and Labour Department to review ongoing works and concerns.
Meanwhile, Commanding Officer of Border Roads Organisation, Rakesh Rana, also called on the DC and discussed road infrastructure projects. The DC appreciated BRO’s role in keeping the National Highway operational during harsh winters and extending crucial support to the administration.
Later, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kaushal Kumar visited Drass and was welcomed by the DC. The visit focused on reviewing public welfare initiatives and law & order preparedness in the region.
