HDFC Bank executives call on Mishra, discuss extending banking services, schemes in Ladakh

Leh: A delegation from HDFC Bank led by Senior Executive Vice President, Sunali Rohra, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas Thursday. Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS, was present in the meeting.

Sunali informed HLG that there are two branches of HDFC Bank in Ladakh and also about their plan to expand the footprint in the region. She also informed about the plan to introduce Bank on Wheels to cater to more customers.

Sunali informed about their plan to contribute to the development of Ladakh and sign an MoU with UT Administration to offer the banking services of HDFC Bank across Ladakh.

She also informed about the Sustainable Livelihood Initiative (SLI) which aims to deliver financial support to the section of the population lacking access to formal banking services and make loan availability convenient and stress-free to empower Self-Help Groups (SHGs). She further informed about the HDFC Bank Parivartan initiative to create digital classrooms in government schools.

Sunali informed about the various initiatives that can be taken by them in Ladakh as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The LG instructed Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, to explore the possibility of females above 18 years of age in Ladakh opening their bank accounts at HDFC Bank to avail benefits of their Sustainable Livelihood Initiative (SLI).
