Shargole: 
Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Haji Hanifa Jan, undertook an extensive tour of several villages in the Shargole Constituency to review developmental activities and engage directly with residents on local issues. Accompanied by government officials, the MP visited Sapi, Fokar, Karamba, Khachay, and Serging villages.
During the visit to Sapi, area councillor Nasir Munshi raised key concerns regarding land compensation, inclusion of local labourers in BRO projects, and the pending mobile tower installation. The MP assured that the telecommunication issue would soon be taken up with the concerned ministry. He also directed wildlife and administrative officials to take immediate preventive measures against bear attacks on livestock.
At Fokar, villagers flagged issues such as teacher shortages, non-functional Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, and the need for an ambulance service. They also demanded a Model Middle School. The MP assured that these matters would be addressed on a priority basis and instructed officials to expedite necessary actions.
In Karamba, residents sought the construction of a motorable road to Thangbu, renovation of bridges and footbridges, and upgradation of health and library infrastructure. Haji Hanifa Jan emphasized close coordination between the Hill Council and concerned departments to ensure timely completion of works.
At Khachay, the MP was briefed about gaps in JJM implementation, manpower shortage, and inadequate water supply affecting nearly 80 households. Villagers also demanded support for Drukpa School, assistance to Self Help Groups, and implementation of a Lift Irrigation Project. The MP assured that these concerns would be addressed in phases with complete transparency.
Concluding his tour at Serging, residents requested renovation of the community hall, electricity connections, and parking space for pilgrims. The MP assured that all genuine demands would be taken up with the relevant authorities for prompt resolution.
