Haji Anayat Ali interacts with Monks in Vietnam
Leh: Former Chairman J&K Legislative Council and Senior BJP Leader Haji Anayat Ali attended the historic inauguration of ‘Drigung Kagyu Samten Ling’ in Dalat, Vietnam.
He was accompanied by CEC LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson; President LBA Thupstan Chhewang, NCM GoI Rinchen Lhamo; and other delegates from Ladakh.
Haji Anayat Ali while talking to media over phone said that he is grateful to His Holiness Drikung Kyabon Chetsang Rinpoche and His Eminence Drubwang Sonam Jorfel Rinpoche for inviting him all the way from India to be a part of this auspicious and historic day.
During his tour he interacted with many Ladakhi monks especially from BodhKharbu, Mulbek, Wakha, Kuksho and the Aryan Valley at the meditation centre. This exposure made him feel more connected to his people, culture and beliefs.
The secular environment at Samten Hills in Vietnam makes feel home with monks from Kargil. Drigung Kagyu Samten Ling is associated directly with the Gompa at BodhKharbu, so it is indeed a proud moment for all Ladakhis particularly people of Kargil that our influence has spread beyond borders, he added.
He said that it was fascinating to learn that they have acquired nearly 400 acres of land to serve humanity where Samten Hills is located as well. And the praying wheel which is indeed magnanimous holds the Guinness book of world record for having the most number of Buddhist chants and prayers.
He further added that the experience was enriching and most importantly it has moved him and made him a little more humble.
He said that he is grateful that because of some of his former service to the Buddhist Association and Community in Kargil District with a purely secular intention, he has being invited and recognized by His Eminence and extend gratitude for this recognition and also thanked all the people who always had faith in my service.
