Leh: Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson in the presence of Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk convened a meeting Friday in the LAHDC Conference Hall to discuss the proposal for developing a multipurpose sports and recreation centre at Solar Colony, Choglamsar.
The meeting specifically focused on the construction of a skatepark as a key component of the proposed facility.
The proposal outlines the development of a solar-powered parking area, a futsal ground for women, an activity room, a table tennis room, a skatepark accessible to persons with disabilities, and facilities for snowboarding and ice mountain climbing.
Discussions also covered proper compound walling, lighting systems, and comprehensive site planning to ensure functionality and accessibility.
CEC Tashi Gyalson reviewed the various components of the proposal and suggested that a qualified consultant be engaged to assist with the technical and design aspects of the project.
He approved the proposal in principle and directed that the planning and implementation process be taken forward in a structured and timely manner.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Construction Division, Imran Khan; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh, Stanzin Rabgais; District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Tsering Tashi; Patwari Choglamsar; Vice President of Chispay Tolop Khang Society, Choglamsar; and Sophie Samdup, founder of CT Kits, along with students of CT Kits.
