Gyalson organises high tea in honour of Central Monastic Council of Bhutan delegates

LEH: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson organised a high tea in honour of the delegates from the Central Monastic Council of Bhutan in Leh on the other day.

The Bhutanese delegates headed by His Eminence Tshogi Lopen Sangay Khandu; Executive Councillors of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, and Stanzin Chosphel; Nominated Councillor, Ven Konchok Tsepel; ADDC Leh, Sonam Norboo; Vice President LBA, Chering Dorjey Lakrook; Representatives from LGA, Former CECs, Rigzin Spalbar and Gyal P Wangyal; Former Ambassador, P Stobdan; President LBA Women Wing, Yangchan Dolma; President LBA Youth Wing, Rigzin Dorjey, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

Discussions held around strengthening various socio-cultural and religious ties between Ladakh and Bhutan. Ladakhi delegates requested the intervention of the Royal Bhutan government to consider granting concessions in the entry fee, specifically the Sustainable Development Fee and Monastic entry fee for Ladakhi pilgrims embarking on religious pilgrimages to Bhutan.

The Bhutanese delegates expressed their sincere gratitude to LAHDC Leh led by its Chairman for the honor and also assured the gathering that they would take up the matters discussed during this meeting with their senior authorities in Bhutan.

They also highlighted the significance of centuries-old cultural and spiritual connections between Bhutan and Ladakh, and emphasised to work collectively towards a shared vision of harmony, preservation, and mutual growth.
