Gyalson flags off additional source of electric power backup for villages of Nubra

LEH: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson in the presence of Dy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk and Councillor Panamik, Tsering Sangdup on Friday flagged off a consignment carrying an additional source of electric power backup to be covered for villages of the Nubra region.

Chief Engineer PDD Ladakh Tsewang Paljor, SE PDD Leh Tundup Spalzang, Executive Engineer PDD Leh and other concerned officials were also present during the event.

The equipment would augment the existing small units of DG sets placed at various villages of the Nubra region. They would be placed at Nyungsted, Udmaru and Khyungru villages for further distribution as has been done before.

CEC Gyalson emphasised that these additional power backups would ease the shortage of electricity power supply during the winter season in the Nubra region.

The CEC also discussed the status of the Leh-Nubra Transmission line with the Chief Engineer PDD Ladakh and the officers of PDD Leh, deliberated majorly on the early completion of the mega project.
