Govt High School Urgo celebrates Parents cum Sports Day in Phobrang
URGO: Government High School Urgo celebrated its inaugural parents day cum sports day at pasture land ‘Tsanmur’, Phobrang on August 29.
The event was graced by chief guest Councillor Chushul, Konchok Stanzin, and guest of honour Zonal Education Officer, Durbuk, Tashi Wangail.
Parents and teachers collaborated to organise the event, which featured an array of sports including shot put, discus throwing, 100-meter race, and dance competitions. Also, fun games for parents and staff were organised.
Konchok Stanzin commended the students’ performances, instilling confidence and moral support, while also promising sports equipment.
Zonal Education Officer emphasized the importance of such activities in showcasing children’s talents to parents.
He informed that the construction of a new school building is nearing completion, providing a future venue for celebrations.
The event was attended by personnel from the army, medical, ITBF, ITBP, and BRO. Additionally, teachers and students from other schools including Phobrang, Tselo, and Lukung participated enthusiastically. Medals and trophies were distributed to the position holders.
