
Govt forms UT Level Committee for Decentralized Deployment of Disaster Management Infrastructure
Leh: The Government formed a UT level committee for Decentralized Deployment of Disaster Management Infrastructure in Ladakh.
“ Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of UT level Committee, comprising the following, for Decentralized Deployment of Disaster Management Infrastructure in UT Ladakh,” Order read issued by General Administrative Department, UT Ladakh; a copy of which lies with Indus Dispatch.
The UT level would comprise of 11 members headed by Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh as its Chairperson and Convenor.

Respective Deputy Commissioners of Kargil and Leh districts would be among the 10 members of the UT level Committee.
The Committee would have terms of reference including, To review from time to time, deployment of machinery/equipment including Heavy Machinery/ MoV available with various departments at the District, Sub-division block, and Panchayat level.
Also, To plan the decentralized deployment of machinery/equipment by devising an SoP for mobilization and usage needs of the machinery/equipment for effective management of disasters.
The Committee shall be serviced by the Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Department, Ladakh, read the order.
