Govt for early resumption of BOCWWB scheme in Leh

Leh: Chairman/CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting Thursday to review the implementation of Labour welfare schemes in the district.

Dy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk; EC Labour & Employment, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor; DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Shrikant Suse; ADDC/ACD Leh, Sonam Norboo, and Assistant Labour Commissioner Leh, Delex Namgyal attended the meeting. 

The officials discussed early resumption of Building and Other Construction Worker Welfare Board (BOCWWB) scheme for Leh district, the registration of workers with the board and on the e-Shram portal, and the need for conducting special camps in the district to amplify awareness on the labour welfare schemes to the general public. 

Amid reports on the violation of the Minimum Wages Act 1948 at the KBR Airport Leh, CEC Gyalson directed Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh to investigate thoroughly and take stringent actions against defaulters as per law.
