GMS Sharchey celebrates Golden jubilee on Annual Day Function

Sharchey: In Ladakh, the Government Middle School Sharchey on the LOC in Batalik Sector celebrated its Golden Jubilee on its Annual Day Function.

The School came into limelight for the innovative and dedicated Service by a young Teacher Abass Pintoo who even purchased land to extent the area of the School.

A galaxy of dignitaries gracing the occasion were Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi as Chief Guest, Lt Prateek Jhadav as Guest of Honour, ZEPO Kargil Mohd Kazim as Special Guest and Social Worker & Famous Artist Haji Mohd Hussain Momin, Villagers, Parents and Students.

The Students of the school presented colourful cultural programmes and displayed their talents and confidence.

For the first time a Modelling Contest was also conducted at the LOC School which was appreciated by all the Guests and Villagers.

The achievers in academics and sports were honoured and appreciated with accolades and prizes by dignitaries present in the function.

Appreciation prizes were also distributed among the participants of cultural items.
While speaking on the occasion, CPO Abdul Hadi stressed on the Value Oriented Education and appreciated the efforts of Abass Pinto Sir for the beautiful infrastructure with latest facilities even if the village has no internet facilities and has to trek for an hour and half to reach the village.

He appreciated School for outstanding results and stressed upon the holistic development of the students referring to the recent topper in Neet Exams who was an alumni of the School.

Abdul Hadi on behalf of DC Kargil congratulated Abass Pinto and his team for the dedication and zeal shown in lifting the overall status of the School to one of the best school in UT Ladakh and assured to take up the issues of the village and school with DC Kargil for early redressal.

Sir Abass Pinto while talking on this occasion thanked all the sponsors and volunteers who have given their time and money to improve the Schools Status upto this level, particularly Mahima Mehra and Shikha Tikoo of the Himalyan Volunteer Tourism Group who sends Volunteers and sponsors for the School.

He also thanked Lt Prateek Jhadav of Indian Army for a cash prize of 20,000 and Gifts for the Children of the School.
