GMDC Principal chairs meeting regarding ongoing projects under SDP, District Capex, SDP


Kargil: Principal Government Model Degree College Zanskar, MNM Shabani Wednesday chaired a meeting in the College Conference Hall regarding the ongoing seven projects under SDP/District Capex/District SDP.

The meeting was attended by Rehmatullah Wani, AEE PWD Zanskar, Zakir representing Consultant Northern Eco Earth Design Solution Kargil, Fayaz D Hamaliyan Architect & Designer Kargil and all the concerned contractors.

The AEE PWD presented a detailed work in progress of the ongoing projects which include indoor stadium/multipurpose Hall, Gazetted staff quarter, Non-Gazetted staff quarter, Girls Hostel, Boys Hostel, Science Laboratory Block and Staff Quarter.

Shabani directed the concerned contractors to gear up the pace of work as the region has very short working season.

He informed that sufficient funds are available and Commissioner Secretary Higher Education has assured flow of funds as the work progresses but compromise in the quality of work and materials shouldn’t be entertained.

In order to get the pace of work and maintain the quality, the principal directed the contractors to be in touch with the consultants.

Furthermore, the foundation line marking of science laboratory has been completed and he directed the concerned contractor to start excavation process at the earliest.

He also gave a patient hearing to the problems faced by the contractors and assured them to provide all logistic support.

The principal thanked all the officials for attending the meeting and stressed to work in close collaboration to make the projects accomplished with desired satisfaction.

He also directed the concerned contractors to submit a timeline within a month to complete the projects within a stipulated time. The contractors unanimously agreed to utilize overtime for accelerating the pace of work under given conditions and double shift is impossible.
