GHS Thasgam celebrates Independence Day

Kargil:  Government High School Thasgam, Drass today celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
The event was graced by the presence of Colonel Puneet Kataria, the Commanding Officer of the 198 Field Regiment, who hoisted the National Flag in the presence of the I/C Headmaster Mohd Hussain, Teachers and enthusiastic students.
Students, teachers, staff members gathered in the school premises to commemorate the glorious history of India’s freedom struggle. The event was aimed to instill a sense of national pride and remind everyone of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
Colonel Puneet Kataria, a respected figure in the Indian Army, played a significant role in inspiring the students by sharing his experiences and highlighting the importance of the day. His presence motivated young minds to excel in their respective fields while upholding the values of integrity and service to the nation.
The national flag was hoisted by Colonel Puneet Kataria. The unfurling of the tricolor filled everyone’s hearts with pride and reminded them of the immense progress that the country has made since gaining independence. It also served as a reminder to cherish and protect the hard-fought freedom bestowed upon us by our ancestors.
During his address to the gathering, Colonel Puneet Kataria commended the efforts of the school in nurturing future leaders and emphasized the importance of education in building a strong nation. He encouraged the students to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society.
I/C Headmaster, Mohd Hussain expressed his gratitude to Colonel Puneet Kataria for gracing the occasion and inspiring the students.
He acknowledged the hard work of the teachers and staff members in organizing the Independence Day celebrations. The headmaster reiterated the school’s commitment to providing quality education and shaping responsible citizens of tomorrow.
The celebration concluded with patriotic songs, cultural performances, and a renewed sense of national unity.
